The IHS is operated and staffed by Civil Service employees and Commissioned
Officers of the United States Public Health Service, (USPHS). It is funded by
the Colorado River Service Unit (CRSU) at Parker,
The Center provides comprehensive medical and behavioral services to the
entire student population. The medical clinic is typically staffed by a
licensed Family Nurse Practitioner, (Practitioner) and a Registered Nurse,
(RN). The clinic provides chronic and acute care services with laboratory and
pharmaceutical services. We provide specialized health care services with
access to Women's Health, Orthopedics, Dental Care, and Ophthalmology
throughout the
The Behavioral Health Program provides confidential individual and group counseling to students free of charge by licensed mental health professionals. In addition, a psychiatrist is available once a month to address any medication needs that students may have. Students may request counseling services or may be referred by parents, guardians, or SIHS staff. Students can be seen for: anxiety; adjustment problems; relationship concerns; depression; and/or, drug and alcohol issues.
